Inside Lane Therapy

Ben Volk, LPCC-S, LICDC

Based in Ohio, I provide virtual therapy for adults seeking a supportive and compassionate space to navigate life’s challenges, foster personal growth, and create meaningful change.

My Story

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in video production. While the careers seem very different, they share the same core idea: people live inside stories. In one career, I helped tell stories on screen. In this one, I help people understand, reshape, and reconnect with the stories they tell themselves.

Many of the people who find their way to therapy are exhausted from carrying the same patterns for years. On the outside, life may look fine. On the inside, there’s a constant sense of pressure, anxiety, burnout, frustration, or disconnection. You know something needs to change, but every attempt seems to lead back to the same place.

I know that feeling.

My own experience in therapy changed the way I saw myself and the world. It taught me that growth isn’t about becoming a flawless version of yourself. It’s about learning to relate to yourself with more honesty, compassion, and courage.

That perspective shapes how I work today.

My Approach

Slow. Soft. Safe.

Therapy is not about forcing change. It is about creating the space to understand yourself, reconnect with your story, and move forward with compassion.

Slow

Pause. Reflect. Understand.

Life moves fast. Therapy is a place to slow down, reflect, and become curious about the thoughts, emotions, and patterns that shape your life. This allows us to notice what we’ve been missing.

Soft

Compassion over criticism.

Growth does not come from criticizing yourself into change. It comes from learning to approach yourself with patience and understanding, and gentle self-compassion.

Safe

A space to be yourself.

Meaningful therapy starts with feeling understood. We will explore your story using Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and mindfulness-based approaches to create lasting change.
